Berwyn Paoli Area Little League would like to congratulate Gary Brooks, winner of the 2020 Chevy Cares Award!!!
For the last 10 years, Gary Brooks has demonstrated tireless energy and unwavering dedication as he sets the tone of inclusion and service as the Director of Berwyn Paoli Area Little League's Challenger Program. This program has offered more than 500 children with special needs the opportunity to participate in baseball and softball.
Gary has coordinated 4 Challenger Day Tournaments for the Delaware Valley area in which 375 Special Needs Children participate. These events require significant fundraising and the help of 200 plus volunteers to provide an unforgettable experience for the participants.

Since the start of the COVID 19 pandemic, Gary’s creativity and leadership have continued to inspire the community. Beginning in March 2020, Gary began hosting weekly ZOOM sessions as a way for players and parents to connect, share and plan for returning to play as quickly as possible.
Throughout the pandemic Gary has also been an advocate for giving back to the community. In May 2020, Gary led the “BPALL Gives Back Food Drive” to gather food and grocery gift card donations to support local food banks experiencing significant demand increase due to the pandemic. The campaign raised over 1,000 pounds of food and personal hygiene donations along with over $600+ in gift cards.
Our league has a saying which fits Gary’s unselfish service well:
“There is no limit as to what can be accomplished, when no one cares who gets the credit”.
The entire community is grateful to Gary for his dedication to BPALL and the Challenger Program.
